Definitely an Endless Love (Kara Sevda)

The Turkish drama series I'm writing about today made my throat retched and my eyes bloodshot with crying because of their tragic or more precisely unfair ending. Yes, I am talking about Kara Sevda (Endless Love). OMG, what a ride was that... full of emotions, thriller and suspense. I finished the series a few months back but needed some time out to pull my brain out of that sheer misery I have experienced. If I will ever make a list of the top favorite Turkish shows, this will be on that list.

For those who haven't watched this show yet first of all GO AND WATCH IT! 😜😀

Anyway a quick storyline for you: It's a triangle love story of Kemal (Burak Özçivit), Nihan (Neslihan Atagül), and Emir (Kaan Urgancioglu). Nihan was forced to give up her great love for the sake of her family's secret. Five years later Nihan and Kemal finally met again and were still madly in love with each other but they can't be together because Nihan is now married to Emir who is a psychopath with fifty shades and who has no limits for anything. And Kemel who was from a middle-class family background is now rich. I have never seen a guy with such principles in my entire life. I extremely envy Nihan that Kemal falls in love with her.

There is no word in the English dictionary to describe the love Nihan and Kemal showed us On-screen. I mean it was out of the world, better than Romeo and Juliet or any historic couple in the history of love. Maybe, I have exaggerated a bit here for some of you but it truly was epic. Yes, there was some point in the show where the storyline for dragging, especially the suspense part. Every time, I thought now the damn secret will be out, This is the moment! but NO. So many layers and curtains Oh my Gosh. It was stressful😰 but worth it.

For me, the real villain of the show was never Emir. At first, I was devastated by his psychopath attitude and I still don't endorse such behavior. However, with time I realized that he is also a victim of bigger crimes. For me the character I actually hated the most were Zeyneb (Hazal Filiz Küçükköse) and Tariq (Ruzgar Aksoy), sibling of Kemal. Zeyneb was the polar opposite of Kemal, she was selfish and greedy. Always done what she thought was best for her and never considered what that action will affect her family and especially Kemal. Every time, Nihan and Kemal were about to be together, Zeyneb and Tariq will do something that will destroy everything. I will applaud Hazal and Ruzger's performance here because they made me genuinely hate them and that's an achievement for any actor.

I believe, the show could be raped up earlier by avoiding some stupid episodes of never-ending suspense and going in a circle of lies, secrets, and hate. I only have one complaint about the writer of this drama: why haven't you made two consecutive episodes where I could see Nihan and Kemal happy? Other than that, this drama was epic, the chemistry of Burak and Neslishan was heartwarming. I have added some of my favorite scenes of the show in this blog for you so you could also have a glimpse of what I am bragging about.
