Apart from Money Heist, another Spanish series has traveled boarders and built popularity among non-Spanish speakers. I have came across ELITE, a teen drama thriller series, after binge watching Money Heist. My adrenaline for Spanish series was out of the roof when I googled for more brilliant thriller series. The first result that pooped up was ELITE. I was not expecting much because I didn't want to be disappointed. I didn't thought anything would be as mind blowing as Money Heist. Although, this show proved me wrong. With just initial episodes, I was hooked with this show. You just need few relatable dialogues or characters to make you fall in love with the any show. And for me that was Mina El Hammani who played the character of a Muslim girl named Nadia. I certainly have some issues with her character as well but, still the way the writer have build her character throughout the 3 seasons was cleaver.
Basically, the series revolve around how a clash between newly enrolled three working class teens in Spanish's most prestigious school and posh high school student end up in a murder. Further seasons develop on the plot how one murder connects to another (I won't spoil the story for those who haven't watched this show yet because I myself hate spoilers and absolutely hate those people who spoil stories for others😝). The series shown the struggle of Samuel (Itzan Escamilla), Nadia (Mina El Hammani) and Christian (Miguel Herrán) faced to fit in between the life of high-class society. The suspense and thriller of who murdered Marina (María Pedraza) in season 1 was so engaging and twisted that I, myself have suspected every character at least once. Their are so many layers in every character that every individual had its own journey to follow.
I think with out praising Ester Expósito who played Carla, my blog would be incomplete. I loved her acting so much that she annoyed me like hell. She was so convincing in her role, plus she is so young but her acting skills are extremely mature. For me, she was the main protagonist of the season 1 and for some parts season 2. The way writer has explained the effects of growing up in dysfunctional families through Álvaro Rico and Ester relationship was quite twisted to me.
Here comes the best part: I was most excited to this section when I decided to review ELITE. The love life of Guzman (Miguel Bernardeau) and Nadia 😍😍was the selling point of the show for me. They were so damn cute throughout the whole seasons 1-3. At first I was kind of annoyed of Lucrecia (Danna Paola) of being in the way of Guzman and Nadia's ultimate love story but with each season I came to realize, she is not a rich-mean-girl which she always portray herself as. She is just extremely competitive and always want to have best and there is nothing wrong with that. Moreover, the writer have shown exceptionally well, how Nadia overcome her fears of falling in love with Guzman who is not Muslim. When got the scholarship she kind of pledged with herself that she will solely focus on her studies but starting with just a disgusting bet between Guzman and Lu, Nadia and Guzman fell in love. In later in the episodes, the way Guzman respected her boundaries and culture was adorable , made me fall in love with him💓. Rest of the story is for you guys to watch but the last scene in season 3 between Nadia and Guzman really broke my heart. I literally cried a lot while watching it. Although, the tussle of Lu and Nadia was amazing, showed real girl power.
Now I am extremely excited for the season 4, as season 3 have left me hanging for answers. This whole pandemic has disrupted everything, I am quite pissed. Thankfully, the recent update on ELITE social media accounts showed that cast has got the scripts and they have started working on season 4 now.
I am not sure If you are liking my series reviews so far but If I look at the stats, I am assuming my Adorable readers are loving my candid opinion. So, here comes the Next Turkish Series Review about Sen Çal Kapimi (You Knock on My Door) starring Hande Ercel and Kerem Bursin. Eleven episodes have been aired. I have binged watched all the eleven episodes, and let me tell you a secret, I AM LOVING IT. The chemistry between Eda and Serkan is amazing. To be honest, I am not a huge fan of Hande Ercel. The last show I have watched of her was Ask Laftan Analamz, and my focal point was Burak Deniz and his long eyelashes💗. I am not undermining her presence as she was good in that show but so far I am inclined towards her performance in Sen Çal Kapimi. She seems more natural and suited for the role. I am not a professional, just giving my opinion as a fan and a viewer. I quick recap or a short synopsis for the reader with no spoiler (I HATE SPOILERS). Eda (Hande Ercel), who's ...
I am writing my thoughts for this blog while a minute ago I finished watching this drama for the second time. I don't know why I started watching it again, maybe I wanted to watch something that would for sure give me some comfort and warmth. Been out of my mind lately and what best to watch other than K-drama with such a strong portrayal of emotions and not just the emotions related to love but the raw and pure emotions of childhood traumas that could haunt you for your entire life. But first, let me address the elephant in the room for all my precious readers. Yes, I vanished for a while, precisely for 2 years. But I think I am back now for good. And for a change, It's been a while since I am watching K-Dramas (Obviously, because of BTS). Watched quite a lot of dramas now so I thought to start writing about them again. I watched Our Beloved Summer back in the summer of 2022, honestly, it's one of my favorites so far (I have other favorites as well about which I will su...
